Company ManagementBilling & Subscription Plans
Understand plan tiers, upgrade or downgrade, and manage your billing
Overview
TenantSee offers four subscription plans to match your portfolio size. Every account starts on the free Hobby plan, and you can upgrade at any time as your needs grow.
Plan Tiers
| Plan | Price | Units | Team Members | Storage |
|---|
| Hobby | Free | 3 | 1 | 500 MB |
| Starter | $15/mo | 10 | 2 | 2 GB |
| Growth | $45/mo | 25 | 5 | 10 GB |
| Business | $99/mo | 50 | 10 | 25 GB |
All plans include unlimited buildings. The unit limit refers to the total number of units you can create across all buildings.
Growth Plan Features
The Growth plan and above include advanced reporting capabilities:
- Revenue Trends — 12-month rolling chart with growth rate analysis
- Custom Date Range Filtering — Filter the financial dashboard by custom date ranges
- Collection & Aging Report — Payment aging buckets, collection rate, and top overdue accounts
- Monthly Financial Report Emails — Automated monthly summaries sent to your team
- Online Rent Collection (Auto-Pay) — Collect rent automatically each month via Pre-Authorized Debit. See the dedicated Auto-Pay & Online Rent Collection article for setup, settlement timing, and dispute handling.
Online Rent Collection & Platform Fees
Online rent collection (auto-pay) is included on the Growth and Business plans at no additional subscription cost. Each successful auto-pay payment incurs a flat platform fee of CAD $1.99, paid by the landlord.
| What you pay | When |
|---|
| $0 | Setting up Stripe Connect, inviting tenants, sending reminders |
| $1.99 CAD | Each time an auto-pay rent payment successfully settles |
| $0 | Failed charges, refunds, or successful tenant disputes — the platform fee is automatically reversed |
| $0 | Manual payments (cash, e-transfer, cheque, bank transfer) — no platform fee on any plan |
A few important things to know:
- The platform fee is deducted from the payout to your connected bank account, not added to the tenant's bill. Your tenant always sees the full rent amount on their statement.
- Stripe also charges a standard ACSS Debit processing fee on each successful payment — see Stripe's pricing for the current rate. That fee is separate from TenantSee's platform fee.
- Pre-Authorized Debit settles in approximately 5 business days from the day a charge is initiated. This is a Stripe/banking timeline, not a TenantSee one.
- Failed payments do not auto-retry. You'll be notified by email and can re-attempt the charge manually or accept payment another way.
- Tenants on personal accounts have a 90-day window to dispute a PAD debit with their bank under Canadian Payments Association Rule H1. Where a dispute succeeds, the funds and the platform fee are reversed against the landlord.

Add-Ons
Paid plans can purchase add-ons for additional capacity:
- Extra Units — Add 10 more units for $15/month (stackable — purchase multiple packs as needed)
Add-ons are only available on paid plans (Starter, Growth, or Business).
Upgrading Your Plan
- Go to Settings > Company > Billing (or visit the Subscribe page)
- Review the available plans
- Click Upgrade on the plan you'd like
- Complete the checkout through Stripe
- Your new limits take effect immediately
When upgrading from one paid plan to another, your billing is prorated — you only pay the difference for the remainder of your billing period.
Downgrading Your Plan
To downgrade to a lower tier:
- Go to Settings > Company > Billing
- Select the lower plan
- Confirm the downgrade
Before downgrading, make sure your current usage fits within the new plan's limits (units, team members, and storage).
Cancelling Your Subscription
You can cancel your paid subscription at any time:
- Go to Settings > Company > Billing
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Choose to cancel immediately or at the end of the billing period
After cancellation, your account reverts to the Hobby (free) plan with its associated limits.
If you cancel at the end of the billing period, you'll retain access to your paid features until the period expires. You can reactivate at any time before then.
Billing History
View your past invoices and download receipts:
- Go to Settings > Company > Billing
- Scroll to the Billing History section
- Click on any invoice to download the PDF
Payment Issues
If a payment fails, your subscription moves to a past due state with a 7-day grace period. During this time, your plan limits remain active. If the payment issue isn't resolved within 7 days, your account falls back to free-tier limits.
A banner notification will appear at the top of the app when your subscription needs attention.
