Securing Your Account

Set up two-factor authentication, passkeys, and manage your active sessions

Overview

TenantSee offers multiple layers of security to protect your account — password management, two-factor authentication (2FA), passkeys, and session management. You can configure all of these from Settings > Security.

Password Management

To change your password:

  1. Go to Settings > Security
  2. Click Change Password
  3. Enter your current password and your new password
  4. A strength indicator shows whether your password is Weak, Medium, or Strong

Passwords must be at least 8 characters long. When you change your password, all other active sessions are automatically signed out.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security by requiring a code from an authenticator app in addition to your password.

Setting Up 2FA

  1. Go to Settings > Security
  2. Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication
  3. Confirm your current password
  4. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.)
  5. Enter the 6-digit code to verify
  6. Save your backup codes in a secure location

Backup codes are one-time-use codes that let you sign in if you lose access to your authenticator app. Store them somewhere safe — you can regenerate them at any time from the Security settings.

Signing In with 2FA

After entering your email and password, you'll be prompted for a 6-digit code from your authenticator app. The code auto-submits once all 6 digits are entered.

Passkeys

Passkeys provide passwordless authentication using your device's biometrics — Face ID, Touch ID, or Windows Hello.

Adding a Passkey

  1. Go to Settings > Security
  2. Click Add Passkey
  3. Follow your device's biometric prompt
  4. Name your passkey for easy identification

You can register multiple passkeys across different devices. Each passkey entry shows the device type, creation date, and whether it syncs to the cloud.

Signing In with a Passkey

From the login page, click Sign in with Passkey and follow the biometric prompt. No password or 2FA code needed.

If you have both 2FA and passkeys set up, signing in with email and password will prompt for your 2FA code. Signing in directly with a passkey skips the 2FA step.

Session Management

View and manage all devices where your account is signed in:

  1. Go to Settings > Security
  2. Scroll to Active Sessions
  3. See each session's device, browser, operating system, and last active time
  4. Click Revoke on any session to sign it out
  5. Use Revoke All Other Sessions to sign out everywhere except your current device

Security Checklist

The Security settings page includes a visual checklist that tracks your security posture:

  • Password set
  • Two-factor authentication enabled
  • Passkey registered
  • Active sessions reviewed

Complete all four items for the strongest account protection.
