Managing Documents

Upload, organize, and share documents across your properties


Overview

TenantSee provides secure document storage for leases, receipts, inspection reports, and other property-related files. Documents are stored in the cloud and can be associated with specific units and tenants.

Uploading Documents

  1. Navigate to Documents in the sidebar
  2. Click the + button or drag and drop files into the upload area
  3. Enter a Name for the document
  4. Choose a Category — Lease, Insurance, Inspection, Permit, Tax, Maintenance, or Other
  5. Optionally set an Expiration Date
  6. Associate the document with a Unit and/or Tenant
  7. Click Save

The upload area supports drag-and-drop and click-to-browse. Each file can be up to 10 MB in size.

You can also upload documents from the Documents tab on a unit's detail page, which automatically associates the document with that unit.

Document Categories

Organize your documents by category for easy filtering:

  • Lease — Rental agreements and lease documents
  • Insurance — Insurance policies and certificates
  • Inspection — Property inspection reports
  • Permit — Building permits and licenses
  • Tax — Tax-related documents and receipts
  • Maintenance — Maintenance records and repair documentation
  • Other — Any document that doesn't fit the above categories

Finding Documents

Use the filters on the Documents page to narrow your results:

  • Search — Filter by document name
  • Category — Filter by document category
  • Tenant — Show documents for a specific tenant
  • Unit — Show documents for a specific unit
  • Upload Date — Filter by date range

Storage Limits

Document storage is included with your subscription plan:

A storage indicator shows how much space you've used. When you reach your plan's limit, you'll need to upgrade to upload more documents.

Secure Access

All documents are stored securely in the cloud with the following protections:

  • Documents are scoped to your company — other companies cannot access your files
  • Download links expire after 1 hour for security
  • Only users with document permissions can view and download files
