Send a repair request
Tell your landlord what needs fixing, add photos, follow the request until it's done, and reopen it if it isn't fixed.
A repair request tells your landlord about something that needs fixing. It goes straight to your landlord, and you follow it on its own page until it's done.
Send a request
- Choose Submit a Request on Home, or open Maintenance in the sidebar (on a phone, it's in the bar at the bottom) and choose Submit Request
- If you rent more than one home, choose the Unit
- Under Describe the issue, say what happened, where, and since when
- Optionally choose a Category: Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Appliance, Structural, Cosmetic or Other
- Check the Priority. It starts on Medium: Low can be addressed when convenient, Medium is a normal request, High needs attention soon and Urgent needs attention right away
- Add photos if you have them: up to 5 photos, JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB each
- Choose Submit Request
If a problem can't wait, contact your landlord directly as well. Their contact details are under Your landlord on Home.
Follow your request
Your request starts as Pending. Its statuses are Pending, In progress, Completed and Cancelled.
On the request's page, Updates shows your landlord's replies and every status change, and you're notified when something changes (unless you've turned those notifications off in Settings → Notifications). You can reply there while the request is Pending or In progress: press Enter for a new line, and ⌘ + Enter (Mac) or Ctrl + Enter (Windows) to send. You can attach up to 5 photos to a reply. A request holds up to 20 photos in all, including the ones you attached when you made it.
Your landlord's internal notes are never shown to you.
Confirm it's fixed, or reopen it
When your landlord marks the request completed, its page asks whether it's fixed.
- Confirm It's Fixed tells your landlord the repair worked.
- Still Not Fixed reopens the request. Say what's still wrong and choose Reopen Request. The request goes back to Pending, and your message appears in Updates.
You can reopen a request within 30 days of its completion. After that, choose Submit a New Request. While a request is completed, replies are closed: confirm it or reopen it instead. A cancelled request can be read but not replied to.
If you don't hear back
Check the request's page first: your landlord's reply appears in Updates. If you're still waiting, write to your landlord directly. Their contact details are under Your landlord on Home.
