Managing Buildings

Create and manage your rental buildings, addresses, and building managers

Overview

Buildings are the top-level organizational unit in TenantSee. Each building has an address, can contain multiple units, and serves as the parent for tenants, payments, and maintenance requests.

Creating a Building

  1. Navigate to Buildings in the sidebar
  2. Click the + button to open the add building page
  3. Enter the Building Name
  4. Type the Address — TenantSee uses Google Maps autocomplete to validate and format the address
  5. Choose whether you are the building manager or assign someone else
  6. Click Save

If you uncheck I am the building manager, you'll be asked to provide the manager's name, email, and phone number.

You can also create your first building during the onboarding wizard when you set up your account.

Building Detail Page

Click on any building to view its detail page. The page header shows three summary cards:

  • Building Card — Name, address, and building manager info
  • Vacancy Card — Occupancy rate with color-coded indicator (green for 80%+, yellow for 50%+, red below 50%)
  • Amenities Card — Summary of assigned amenities with a Manage button

Below the header, two tabs organize your building's data:

  • Units — All units in this building with a filterable data grid
  • Tenants — All tenants assigned to units in this building

Editing a Building

From the building detail page, click the Edit button on the building card to update the building's name, address, or manager information.

Managing Building Images

You can upload photos of your building to keep a visual record. Images are displayed on the building detail page and help team members identify properties at a glance.

Deleting a Building

To delete a building:

  1. Click the Delete button on the building detail page
  2. Type the building name to confirm
  3. Enter your password for verification

Buildings with existing units cannot be deleted. You must remove all units first before deleting a building.
