Managing Units

Create and manage rental units, track details, and organize unit-level data

Overview

Units represent individual rental spaces within a building — apartments, offices, suites, or any leasable area. Each unit belongs to a building and tracks its own rent, tenants, payments, maintenance requests, and documents.

Creating a Unit

  1. Navigate to Units in the sidebar (or the Units tab on a building detail page)
  2. Click the + button
  3. Select the Building the unit belongs to
  4. Enter the unit details:
    • Name — Unit identifier (e.g., "101", "Suite A")
    • Floor — Floor number
    • Rent — Monthly rent amount
    • Size — Square footage
    • Bedrooms and Bathrooms — Room counts
    • Rent Due Date — Day of the month rent is due (defaults to the 1st)
  5. Click Save

Unit Detail Page

Click on any unit to view its detail page with six tabs:

TabContent
DetailsEdit unit properties — name, floor, rent, size, bedrooms, bathrooms, rent due date
TenantsTenant cards showing lease dates, monthly rent, days remaining, and lease expiry indicators. Use Edit Lease to update any tenant's lease details.
FinancialPayment history for this unit
Maintenance RequestsAll maintenance requests filed for this unit
NotesInternal notes about the unit (visible to your team only)
DocumentsDocuments associated with this unit (leases, inspections, etc.)

Availability Status

Each unit has an availability status that helps you track its current state:

  • Vacant — Unit is empty and available for lease
  • Occupied — Unit has an active tenant
  • Pending — Lease is being finalized
  • Maintenance — Unit is undergoing repairs or renovation

Editing a Unit

Open the Details tab on the unit detail page to update any of the unit's properties. Changes are saved when you click Save.

Deleting a Unit

Deleting a unit removes all associated tenant assignments. This action requires confirmation. To delete, use the delete option on the unit detail page.

Before deleting a unit, consider whether you want to preserve the payment and maintenance history. Soft-deleted units retain their historical data.
