Getting Started

Getting Started with TenantSee

Learn how to set up your account, add your first property, and start managing tenants

Create Your Account

Head to the registration page and create your landlord account. You can sign up with your email address or use a passkey for passwordless authentication.

Once registered, verify your email address and you'll be guided through the onboarding process.

Complete the Onboarding Wizard

The onboarding wizard walks you through three quick setup steps:

  1. Portfolio — Tell us about your rental portfolio size and property focus
  2. Building — Add your first building with its address and details
  3. Company Profile — Set up your company name and branding

The onboarding wizard takes under 2 minutes. You can always add more buildings, units, and tenants later from the dashboard.

Add Your First Building

Buildings are the top-level organizational unit in TenantSee. Each building has an address, type (residential, commercial, mixed-use), and can contain multiple units.

If you didn't add a building during onboarding, here's how:

  1. Navigate to Buildings in the sidebar
  2. Click the + button
  3. Fill in the building details — name, address, type, and any notes
  4. Save your building

Add Units

Units represent the individual rental spaces within a building — apartments, offices, suites, etc.

  • Navigate to your building's detail page
  • Open the Units tab
  • Click Add Unit and enter the unit number, floor, size, and monthly rent
  • Set the availability status (Available, Occupied, or Under Maintenance)

Add Your First Tenant

Once you have a building and unit set up, you can start adding tenants:

  1. Go to Tenants in the sidebar
  2. Click the + button
  3. Enter the tenant's name, email, and phone number
  4. Assign them to a building and unit
  5. Set their lease start and end dates

TenantSee sends the tenant a welcome email with instructions to create their own account. Once set up, tenants can submit maintenance requests and view their documents.

Next Steps

With your first property and tenant in place, explore these features:

  • Managing Documents — Upload and share lease agreements and other files
