Accept your invitation and log in
What to do when your landlord adds you on TenantSee: which email you got, how to accept an invitation, and how to log in for the first time.
When your landlord adds you to a home on TenantSee, you get an email. Which email depends on whether your address already has a TenantSee account, and only one of them asks you to accept anything.
Which email did you get?
- "[Landlord] set up your TenantSee account." Your address had no account, so your landlord's setup created one for you. There is nothing to accept: log in for the first time.
- "[Landlord] invited you on TenantSee." Your address already has a TenantSee account, for example because you signed up as a tenant yourself. Nothing is linked to your landlord until you accept: accept the invitation.
- "You're on the lease at [building]" or "Your lease at [building] is on TenantSee." Your landlord added you to a lease and nothing needs accepting. Log in to see it.
Accept an invitation
- Choose Review the invitation in the email. If you're not logged in, TenantSee asks you to log in first and brings you back. The invitation also appears in your notifications under the bell, as Invitation to review
- On Your invitations, read who invited you. It names the company, and the home if the invitation came with one
- Choose Accept. TenantSee opens your tenant Home
Until you accept, your landlord has only the details it typed about you, and nothing from your account is shared with it. Accepting lets it see your tenancy, rent and payments, and send you notices and messages.
If you don't recognize the invitation, choose Decline or ignore the email. Declining tells the company you declined, and nothing more.
An invitation can be accepted for 14 days, and the page shows the date it expires. After that it can't be accepted: ask your landlord to send it again.
Log in for the first time
There is no password to set up. TenantSee emails you a link instead.
- Choose Log In in the email, or go to the login page
- Enter the email address your landlord used and choose Email Me a Login Link
- Open the link we send you. It works once and expires in 5 minutes
- The first time, TenantSee asks you to agree to its terms before you continue
- You land on your Home
If the link has expired, choose Send it again on the Check your email screen.
Once you're in, you can add a password or a passkey if you'd rather not wait for an email each time. See Log in and use two-step verification.
If no email arrived
- Check your spam folder.
- Go to the login page, enter your email address and choose Email Me a Login Link. If your landlord's setup created an account for that address, the link opens it.
- Ask your landlord to check that they have your address right. If it was an invitation, they can send it again.
